The teachers of Declo Jr. High will provide an academic challenge to all students to use their minds at rigorous levels, provide them with the curriculum, instructional assessment, support and time needed to meet high academic standards and help students apply what they learn to real-world problems.

Declo Jr. High is a high performing school which focuses on student growth and progress by being developmentally responsive to all students.  Students are engaged in a variety of learning strategies such as cooperative learning, study strategies, mentoring, application activities and reflective journaling.

We promote student responsibility, accountability and citizenship.  We encourage parent involvement.  Teachers at Declo Jr. High have high expectations for students and they are committed to helping each child produce high quality work.  We make sure that all students are in academically rigorous classes staffed by experienced and expertly prepared teachers.

We acknowledge and honor our students' histories and cultures.  We work to educate every child well and engage the community in supporting student learning and growth.
