White Pine Intermediate School Library serves between 700 and 800 students between the 4th through 6th grades. It occupies a central, spacious location and serves as an information hub for our school, supporting the reading and research needs of our students. The library is open from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition to visiting the library with a class, students may also drop-in before or after school or with a library pass from a classroom teacher.

The library is automated with a collection of approximately 15,000 titles and 18,000 volumes of fiction and non-fiction books, large video collection, internet access, and audio tape books allowing students to improve reading skills by reading and listening at the same time.

A large part of the collection is devoted to the Accelerated Reader Program. Currently, the library has over 9,000 AR titles and computerized tests. Students who participate are able to make good increases in their reading levels and skills. Students are able to earn reading points to improve their grade in Language Arts classes and "spend" in the AR Store.

A friendly warning: You probably also use Burley Public Library as a source for reading books for your student as well as our school library. Some of our public libraries have been labeling books that are "testable" for Accelerated Reader in Cassia County Schools. Burley Public has lists from Dworshak, Mountain View, and White Pine schools.
