Year 1 - first semester
Students enrolling have access to state-of-the-art equipment and high quality instruction. Students will learn by doing in this laboratory intensive program that trains in all aspects of graphic media. Students will learn basic design and composition, principles of layout and illustration. Scanners will be used. Software packages include: Adobe Creative Suite CS4 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver) and Epson Scan are used to complete assignments and create personal projects.
College credits are available.
Year 1 - second semester
Students will build upon the knowledge and skills developed during the level one. Students will be introduced to digital photography, simple animation and basic web page design. Digital cameras, video cameras, and scanners will be used. Software packages include: Adobe Creative Suite CS4 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreaweaver), Maya 3D, and iMovie and/or FinalCut Express are used to complete assignments and create personal projects.
College credits are available.
Year 2 - 2 semesters
Students will build upon the knowledge and skills developed during the level one and two classes. Class and personal projects enhance learning and allow students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. Typical projects would include, but not be limited to, still life photography, production of a video and 3D animation. Students will be required to complete a final project in Web design and another of emphasis (digital photography, illustration, video production, or 3-D animation). Either project would qualify as a home high school senior project upon approval. Software used: Adobe Creative Suite CS4 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreaweaver, and SoundBooth ), Maya 3D, and iMovie and/or FinalCut Express.
